Mr. Yao Laiying, Deputy Commissioner of the State Taxation Administration, attended the 57th Congress of the Inter-American Tax Administration Center(CIAT) in Punta del Este, Uruguay, and was invited to visit the Federal Administration of Public Revenues of Argentina.

At the 57th CIAT Congress, themed as “The Important Role of Tax Administration in National Development Strategy”, Mr. Yao delivered a keynote speech entitled “Progress and Prospect of Digitization of China’s Tax Administration”. He introduced China's tax administration’s history, current situation and future prospects of the digitization.

At side-meetings with Mr. Marcio Verdi, Executive Secretary of the CIAT and Mrs. Margarita Faral, Director of the Uruguayan Taxation Administration and Vice President of the Belt and Road Tax Administration Cooperation Mechanism, Mr. Yao talked broadly about the enhancement of international tax cooperation, the invitation of participating in the 4th Belt and Road Tax Administration Cooperation Forum, and the collaboration of Spanished-based Belt and Road Tax Academy.

Mr. Yao met Mr. Carlos Castagneto, Director of the Federal Public Revenue Administration of Argentina

During an invited visit to the Federal Public Revenue Administration of Argentina, Mr. Yao met with the director Carlos Castagneto. They exchanged general situations of the taxation departments of China and Argentina, the basic duties and management system of the taxation inspection departments, the experience and practices of combating tax-related violations, and the entry into force of taxation agreements. He invited his Argentina counterpart to participate in the 4th Belt and Road Tax Administration Cooperation Forum. Mr. Yao and the delegation also visited the Argentine subsidiary of China National Machinery Industry Corporation (SINOMACH) Engineering Group, a subsidiary of SINOMACH.
